Accepting Aging

"Gray hair is a crown of splendor."

— Proverbs 16:31

Lord of time,

I am aging. My body changes, my face wrinkles, my strength diminishes. In a culture that values youth, aging can be experienced as a defeat.

Help me accept aging with grace. To see these changes not as a loss but as the natural expression of the passage of time. Every wrinkle tells a story; every gray hair is a badge of honor.

May I age with dignity and wisdom. Recognize what I gain in depth even if I lose in speed. Aging is part of life, not a disease to fight.

Amen.

Reflection

How do you perceive your own aging? With resistance or acceptance? What do you gain as you age?

For all those who struggle with aging and seek to accept it.
