Simplicity

"Therefore do not worry about your life."

— Matthew 6:25

Lord of simplicity,

My life is often too complicated, too busy, too cluttered. I own so many things I don't really need, I lose myself in secondary concerns, I complicate what could be simple.

Teach me the art of simplicity. Help me distinguish the necessary from the superfluous, to lighten my life so I can breathe better. May I let go of what burdens me, both materially and spiritually.

Grant me the ability to appreciate simple joys: a shared meal, a genuine conversation, a walk in nature. May I find my richness not in accumulation but in what is essential.

Amen.

Reflection

What could you get rid of today? An unnecessary object, a burdensome habit, a futile worry? Simplicity begins with small choices.

For those who are overwhelmed by the complexity of their lives.
