Listening

"Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening."

— 1 Samuel 3:10

Lord,

In the constant noise of my thoughts and the world around me, I struggle to hear You. My life is so filled with words, images, and demands that I no longer know how to listen to the silence where Your voice can be heard.

Teach me the art of listening. Not only to You, but also to others, to nature, to my own heart. Help me quiet my inner chatter to welcome what seeks to be expressed in me and around me.

May I create spaces of silence in my day. Moments where I simply make myself available, open, receptive to Your discreet but faithful presence.

Amen.

Reflection

Try today to spend five minutes in complete silence, without music, without your phone. Just listening to the silence. What do you hear?

For those who have lost the habit of silence and inner listening.
