Letting Go
"Cast all your anxiety on him."
— 1 Peter 5:7
Lord,
My hands are clenched around so many things: situations I want to control, people I want to change, outcomes I want to guarantee. This tension exhausts me and serves no purpose.
Teach me to let go. To loosen my grip, to breathe, to trust. Not out of resignation but out of wisdom, recognizing that I cannot control everything and that this is as it should be.
Give me the discernment to know what depends on me and what is beyond me. May I act on the first and release the second. In this letting go, may I find peace.
Amen.

Reflection
Visualize your worries as objects in your hands. Which ones can you consciously set down today? Letting go is practiced one worry at a time.
For those who are tense from the need to control everything.
